How photodynamic therapy works
Photodynamic therapy, or PDT, combines a topical photosensitiser with a prescribed light source. The activated treatment produces a targeted biological response in selected cells. Reskin has offered PDT since 2007 for suitable patients and indications.

Frequently asked questions
What conditions can PDT treat?
PDT may be considered for selected acne, actinic keratoses, Bowen’s disease and low-risk superficial skin cancers after assessment.
Will I need downtime?
Redness, sensitivity, crusting or peeling may occur. Your clinician will explain expected recovery and light-avoidance instructions.
Is PDT suitable for everyone?
No. Suitability depends on diagnosis, treatment area, medical history and other factors assessed during consultation.
