WHY ASSESSMENT MATTERS

A small lesion can have many possible causes

Raised lesions may be inflammatory, infective, reactive, benign or malignant. Skin tags, seborrheic keratoses, warts, milia, syringomas and sebaceous hyperplasia are among common benign possibilities, but diagnosis should come before removal.

Frequently asked questions

Can every lump be removed with a laser?

No. Diagnosis must be established first, and some lesions need biopsy, excision or referral instead.

Will removal leave a scar?

Any procedure can leave a mark. Expected healing, pigment change and scarring risk will be discussed.

Can several lesions be treated together?

Sometimes, depending on diagnosis, location and treatment method. This can be discussed during assessment.
